Secret Shopper Review of Resume Critique Workshop – August 2018

Hello! It’s Mitch Hilt once again. I’m soon ending my internship at CareerLink®, but wanted to share one more Secret Shopper review.

Continuing with my workshop sit-ins, the resume critique was the obvious workshop to check out after attending the resume workshop. In my opinion, this is a great follow-up workshop to visit once you’ve created your resume.

As I mentioned in the previous blog post, you gain basic understandings of what should and shouldn’t be in resumes in the resume workshop.  I suggest going home and working on your resume after that workshop since in the critique you’ll need a physical copy of it (preferably on a flash drive which you receive FREE at Resume Workshop).

What I like about this class is that only a limited of people can attend each session. Eight people are the max and in order to take this class, you must sign up at the Welcome Desk (or online at www.pacareerlink.pa.gov) before attending. Once you’re in, you’ll have the opportunity to work one-on-one with the instructor to get their feedback on your resume. With only a small amount of people, you won’t have to wait very long for your resume to be looked at!

Don’t feel bad if the instructor suggests you change anything; they are only trying to help. Plus, the more eyes that see your resume means more opinions about it, and this way you’ll hopefully be able to have the best resume possible when you’re ready to submit one to an employer!
