In celebration of Workforce Development Month, PA CareerLink® Lancaster County take a look at a year in review for program year 2024.
Over the year, PA CareerLink® Lancaster County has served over 10,000 community members in their job search. PA CareerLink® is an organization built off of the need of helping communities build their Workforce and help connect job seekers to sustainable employment within their counties. Although throughout the year 2024, there were many situations where people were finding it hard to obtain sustainable employment, Lancaster County has seen a decline in unemployment rates. PA CareerLink® Lancaster County still noticed that there was a good amount of community members struggling to find employment.
With the different services offered at PA CareerLink® Lancaster County such as personalized services, free job seeker workshops, a self-service station, and more; many community members were able to visit and gain skills needed to obtain sustainable employment and gather leads.
From youth community members to adults to those who have been justice-impacted, PA CareerLink® continually worked with community members to help break down barriers preventing them from employment. In 2024 there were 330 youth participants, 263 EARN program participants, 416 Adult and Dislocated Worker participants, and 8,983 community members that utilized the self-service area. PA CareerLink® Lancaster County also assisted over 1,850 other participants at 50 local events directed towards job seekers.
In addition to these community members served, PA CareerLink® Lancaster County connected with over 825 businesses gaining connections and resources to bring back to job seekers and build partnerships. These connections help the job seekers find their “in” with businesses but also help the businesses gain trained employees and funding to assist with training those job seekers who need while building endorsement of PA CareerLink® Lancaster County.
