Construction 201 Graduates Recognized by City Council
Lancaster: In a special ceremony at a City Council meeting on June 23, 2010, graduates of Construction 201 were recognized by Mayor Rick Gray and Council members for their work in rehabilitating four homes in the City of Lancaster as a part of their advanced training in construction. Graduates Jason Curbello, Gregory Reddick, George Rogers, and Victor Nelson are joined by program staff Todd Blankenstein, Johnny Figuero, Brenda Chavez, and Jessica Castro in the photo below.
Other participants included Pedro Andrades, Mike Ice, Angel Lopez, Alfred Myers, Kejmar Perez, Jr., Terry Reber, Alexander Santiago, Anthony Smith, and Barret Derrick.
Construction 201 participants participated in more than three months of on-the-job training as well as classroom instruction in weatherization and architectural presevation techniques. The program was jointly sponsored by the City of Lancaster, Thaddeus Stevens College of Technology, the PA CareerLink, Lancaster County Adult Probation and Parole Services, Neighborhood Services, and the Lancaster County Workforce Investment Board.
Over 200 County Residents Graduate from Ready2Work
Lancaster: On Wednesday, July 14, more than Lancaster County residents graduated from Ready2Work, a workforce readiness program that is sponsored by the PA CareerLink of Lancaster County at a ceremony held at Liberty Place. Community partners include the Spanish-American Civic Association, Brightside Baptist Church, the Urban League, and Neighborhood Services.
