Lancaster, November 6, 2008: PA CareerLink Site Administrator Lori Rank talked with Dick Hoxworth today on the News at Noon segment on WGAL-TV. Click here to see a video clip. Rank explained that the number of people using PA CareerLink services has increased dramatically over the last quarter and that the Center is plannig for those numbers to increase in the near future. "We encourage people to use any periods of unemployment as an opportunity to increase their level of skills in preparation for their next jobs which will come as the economy improves."

New claims for unemployment have overwhelmed the telephone-based Unemployment Compensation reporting system. The PA Department of Labor and Industry is providing additional resources in the PA CareerLink where people can file unemployment claims.
